[edit] PROSPECTIVE POST-BACCS
For the offical Bennington College Post-bacc page, please go to http://www.bennington.edu/acad_grad_postbac.asp
For slightly more information about the science faculty and the program, please follow links from http://faculty.bennington.edu/
For information about medical schools in general, please go to the American Association of Medical Colleges website.
The American Medical Student Association's Pre-Med page is another good starting point for future docs.
For information regarding the medical school application process, please go to the American Medical College Application Servicewebsite or their official site for MCAT info.
For LOTS of information, opinions, stories and rants from pre-meds, med students, residents etc you can go to the Student Doctor Network. SDN might be the best place to search for answers to FAQ's, get a look at what today's pre-meds, med students, and working medical people are doing, and to compare programs (...and procrastinate!). If you're not familiar with the site, please be aware that the quality of opinions ranges from "brilliant, first-hand info" to "some dude on the Internet says so."
The University of Washington's pre-med advising department has an excellent page.
The Student Academy of the AAPA has a pre-PA page including links to detailed information about new incoming classes from the past several years
Speaking of University of Washington, they have a robust pre-Dental page as well.
The Health Careers Center at the University of Minnesota lists 25 different health sciences academic/career tracks for your perusal.
[edit] CURRENT POST-BACCS ie current Dickinson residents
Good luck and enjoy! We hope you have a great year!
For local news and events, read The Bennington Banner
Williams College has great events and speakers during the summer, and the Schow science library is a great place to study (it's air-conditioned!) when you have a Friday off (its not open on the weekends during the summer). See here for Sawyer (main library) and Schow schedules.
For decompressing after the week, Williamstown's independent theater, Images Cinema shows some great films.
[edit] POST-BACC GRADS
Hi Duders
- 12 June 2006, Heres the email from Marisa:
- Here's a good site for rating MCAT test centers.
- How is everyone?
- Miss you guys,
- Marisa
- 22 June 2006, Here's a great article from The Onion for anyone feeling stressed or frustrated, or procrastinating during MCAT studying: I'm Not One of Those Fancy College-Educated Doctors
- 20 December 2006... everyone keep an eye out for a fundraising mailer. On one side it has Dave Schmidt looking INTENTLY through his goggles at something he's measuring, and on the inside it features a slightly-blurry Johnny-O and Mimi.
