Remember that August 2006 is the last paper and pencil MCAT (you will be taking the new computerized exam) so these people will not be the best people to ask for advice about the test. See the link page for MCAT info.

Click on "Contacts" to view a selection of current and former Bennington Post-Baccs. We are, in true Bennington fashion, experts in our own very specific and personal experiences, and we hope we can be of help to you. However, if you're looking for more general information, please see the 'Links' page for other sources of pre-Health Sciences info.

Q. Is there a nucleophile in the house? A. Yes.

Q. When should I start writing my personal statement? A. Immediately. The cheesy books at Barnes and Noble actually do help. I think I borrowed one called "30 winning personal statements" or something like that. It helps drag you out of writer's block.

Q. What is the most important part of my application? A. My experience thus far has been that the recommendation letters are the most important. Be sure they're good.

Q. What other things should I be thinking about for my application? A. 15 activities with about 400 characters worth of description and a classification as either volunteer, work, etc. Get all of your transcripts together as soon as you can. Some of them take a really long time to get to AMCAS. Get a good email address. I thought mine was fine because I was getting emails from schools but found out in November that my hotmail account wasn't getting emails from about 12 schools, so be sure to follow up with all your schools, constantly. Put time into your questionaire at the end of the year. I think we all kind of blew it off because we were so bogged down with work, but I think those who put more into it had a more productive meeting with Janet, et al. and had an easier time filling out secondaries.

Should we have a "what is X med school's interview like" section?
