Intro To Rhino with Tesselations and Islamic Tiles
Geometric Patterns are among the most recognizable visual expressions of Islamic Art and Architecture. These intricate patterns are generated from internal sub-grids constructed with only circles and lines. Finish the example started in class, The Mosque of Kairouan. On the vapa server you will find Rhino 4.0 and 5.0 files and a video of me constructing the tile. Use these resources.Complete one additional tile using the PDF extracts from Islamic Geometric Patterns by Eric Broug. Three extracts are provided: 1)Mamluk Koran 2)Mosque of al-Nasir Muhammad 3) Tomb of Jalal al-Din Hussein. Use layers to manage construction of your process. Your file should be able to clearly show your construction steps. For some inspiration on the beauty of Islamic tiles browse the images folder.Create two tessellations of your own design using two of the following symmetry operations: Translation, Reflection, Rotation, and Glide-Reflection.

Summary:
1) complete Kairouan example
2) complete an additional Islamic tile construction
3) Create 2 custom tessellations (be creative)
