We were curious to explore the role of the performer in a digital realm, or rather, a space with no physical constraints or limitations. What happens when the space a moving person occupies is no longer rooted in reality, and can be modified according to the wishes of an ultimate "programmer"? How can we, as controllers, manipulate the movements of our performer by changing the space they occupy, including their own form? From these questions arose an exploratory project. Through work with the Kinect, Rhino & Grasshopper (working specifically with Kangaroo components) our inquiry took form.
