General Description

Acer saccharinum is a deciduous tree with lean palmate leaves. The leaves have five lobes with attenuating points. They are a mid-dark green on the front and silvery white on the back. Seed pods are light yellow flattened helicopter wing-like.


Campus Location

Found on the lawn behind Admissions, but common on campus.


Distribution

Native to eastern North America in the eastern United States and Canada. It is one of the most common trees in the United States
